At the 2025 New York International Auto Show, Kia took the wraps off its hatchback version of the K4. Previously, it had been made available only as a sedan in some international markets; now, the K4 gets a hatchback body style that was teased last year but is being fully revealed for the first time. The new K4 hatchback is a competitor to the Volkswagen Golf and is expected to hit shelves in various key markets across North America, the Middle East, and Asia by late 2025.
Kia K4 Hatchback: Interior
The interior layout closely resembles the sedan’s, with highlights being dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, along with a separate 5-inch screen for climate controls. Standard features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a complete 360-degree camera system, a Harman Kardon sound system, heated and ventilated front seats, a sunroof, over-the-air updates, connected car technology, and 29 specialized driver assistance features.
Kia K4 Hatchback: Design
From the front, the hatchback carries on the sedan’s look, including vertically stacked LED lights inspired by the EV9, T-shaped daytime running lamps, and Kia’s Tiger Nose signature grille. The differences begin to show on the side. The hatchback measures 279 millimeters smaller than its sedan counterpart at 4710 millimeters. A streamlined integrated spoiler complements its modern attitude.

While the alloy wheel and tail-light designs remain unchanged, this car is much more practical. The hatchback has a boot-carrying capacity of 628 liters, over 52 percent more than the sedan. That rises to 1679 liters with the rear seat folded down.
Engine Options and Variants
The K4 hatchback will come with a choice of two petrol engines. A naturally aspirated 2.0-litre unit is good for 147 horsepower and 179 Newton-metre torque, coupled with Kia’s IVT transmission. For those who want something more spirited, a turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol produces 190 horsepower and 264 Newton-metres, paired with an eight-speed automatic. The three variants will be EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo. The GT-Line versions are also outfitted with sport-tuned suspension, which Kia claims increases their handling prowess.
