Mercedes-Benz India is scheduled to formally introduce the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series in India on March 17, 2025. The luxury roadster made its international debut in August 2024 and is being positioned as the sportiest Maybach model ever.
Mercedes-Maybach SL 680: Interior
The SL 680 gives the menacing look of the standard SL Roadster a few defining Maybach touches, the most obvious of which is the classic grille with thin, illuminated vertical slats. Lower down, the front bumper is less aggressive than the SL Roadster’s and is surrounded by chrome. The bonnet is finished in Obsidian Black and patterned with Maybach logos, as well as the soft roof. Elsewhere, the Maybach SL 680 wears Garnet Red paint.

On one side, the SL 680’s wheels feature a unique multi-spoke design, in typical Maybach fashion, and the wing mirrors have a glossy black finish. And as with the front, so with the rear bumper of the SL 680—the luster from the toned-down aggression on the SL Roadster does away with harsh lines.
Inside, the SL 680 epitomizes luxury with its white Nappa leather seating and dashboard, satin silver accents on the AC vents, a newly designed three-spoke steering wheel, and Maybach emblems on the roll hoops. Mercedes has modified the SL 680’s exhaust system to be quieter than the SL Roadster to reduce cabin noise, and the suspension is tuned for passenger comfort as well.
Powertrain
Although the Maybach’s design sacrifices the athletic features of the regular SL Roadster, the SL 680 remains equipped with a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine that produces a robust 585hp and 800Nm of torque—109hp and 50Nm more than the SL 55. The system delivers power to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.
It is yet to be determined how Mercedes-Benz will price the Maybach SL 680 in India. The SL 55 Roadster is priced at Rs 2.35 crore (ex-showroom); hence, we anticipate that the Maybach SL 680 will be significantly more expensive.
