BMW updates its R 18 cruiser lineup for 2025, which includes new optional features and blacked-out design elements, a redesigned exhaust system, and balanced torque improvements. The massive boxer twin obtained Euro 5+ certification, which brought better refinement without diminishing its characteristic engine noise.

The standard R 18 model has transitioned to a new 18-inch rear wheel while changing its former configuration. The latest model features a 1802cc engine with 91hp and 163Nm torque output while offering better performance than its predecessor. BMW maintains its signature shaft-drive system instead of adopting belt-driven systems, which makes its distinctive riding character stand out from other cruisers.

Variant-Specific Updates

The standard R 18 receives the most product changes among all variants. The updated standard R 18 model features new front and rear mudguards, an 18-inch rear wheel choice, an upgraded suspension system, a Type-C charging connector, standard DRLs, and an enhanced exhaust system.

R 18 Classic features a redesigned front and rear mudguard and 19-inch spoke front wheel substitution for a 16-inch design, DRL and Type-C charging socket, and a blacked-out version.

The R 18 B and Transcontinental models, together with Roctane, receive cast-aluminum wheels and complete blacked-out components such as cylinder head covers and airbox covers to headlight trims, exhaust, and even badges, which make them more stealthy while maintaining an aggressive edge. BMW added two features to their models: a ‘favourite’ button on the 10.25-inch TFT display alongside the introduction of red metallic paint with a dual color scheme and new blacked-out elements.

The updates include comfort-focused elements as part of the package. The Comfort Package for the Standard R 18 received cruise control as its exclusive feature, along with heated grips, hill start assist, and a lockable fuel filler cap.
